Reports to: Training Department Manager

Department: Training

Compensation: $24.00 to $27.00 w/ Benefits Based on Experience

Job Description

The instructor is responsible for providing engaging and informative training for multiple Industrial Hygiene, Health and Safety and Environmental disciplines. This includes utilizing top notch verbal communication skills to provide practical and useable information to NOW/ORION’s students. The instructor is responsible for maintaining all training materials and state reporting.

Basic Functions
  • Instructor for AHERA Building Inspector.
  • Instructor for 32-Hour Asbestos Worker and Refresher.
  • Instructor for 16- Hour O&M Worker.
  • Instructor for Lead Renovator.
  • Maintain training material.
  • Support training manager.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
  • Improve customer service, perception, and satisfaction
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively
  • Business awareness: specific knowledge of the customer and how Orion/NOW can bring value to the marketplace
  • Periodic evening class instruction
  • Periodic off-site training
  • Private vehicle with current insurance for transportation.
  • Work in State and Governmental facilities.
  • Ability to wear a respirator.

  • Ability to study and pass various certification programs.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), and FileMaker (bonus).
  • Excellent time management skills, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Typing skills to ensure quick and accurate entry of Technical Report.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to pass a background check for Federal Installations.
Educational / Vocational / Previous Experience Recommendations
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a science discipline. Training in specific disciplines provided.
  • In place of education- experience as an Asbestos Abatement Supervisor or an AHERA Project Designer.
  • Bonus – Bilingual in English and Spanish.
